Meeting Minutes
On 04/03/2012, an informal committee meeting was held in the Leisure Club to discuss the coming season and club fund raising opportunities. The minutes are posted below.
Wullie Lumsden has put together an impressive proposal for junior golf over the course of the winter, and the committee agreed that the next step had to be a meeting with Mr Gillespie, the committee and the clubgolf regional co-ordinator to discuss the contents further and decide on a course of action. The committee wished to express their thanks to Wullie for his hard work.
The format for Peter Harris' Captains Day has been agreed as a team stableford. Each team will comprises any 4 players be it juniors, ladies or gents. The beneficiaries this year are our own club funds and local football club St Cuthbert Wanderers who are themselves trying to raise funds to build a new clubhouse facility. There will be a social evening on the night too. (May 19th)
A list of all fixtures in the area will be posted in the Golf Office to enable members to play competitions at other courses this season. Our own fixture list includes some Sunday fixtures this year to give members the opportunity to so.
The possibility of a membership comprising golf, swimming and gym was discussed and the committee will be exploring this further with Gillespie Leisure.
The club will also be paying its' own affiliation fees from 2013 to the both the SOSGA and the SGU. Gillespie Leisure will contibute half of the subscriptions for 2012 and thereafter will not contribute. The committee accepts these terms and accepts that although Brighouse Bay Golf Club must be affiliated to these bodies, Gillespie Leisure has no need to be.
The club is aiming to have 4 fund raising evenings this year, and discussions are ongoing with Gillespie Leisure in an effort to finalise dates for these. This should be concluded shortly and members will be informed via this website and notices in the Leisure Club and Golf Office.
